Night of Praise is over...

and if you missed it, you really missed out on something special.
A TON of people got baptized, worship was a BLAST, and it was AMAZING to see hundreds of people taking communion together as a Foothills family.

We had a great turnout from both campuses, and the energy was THROUGH THE ROOF!
If you were there, hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.
I'd you weren't there, we'll be doing it again during the summer. Stay tuned to Foothills.cc and your fliers for more info in the coming months.

Things Coming Up... (April-May 2009)

It seems to be a very hectic time right now for some reason. It may be because we are starting so many new things in the coming weeks. Here is a list of important things and dates to remember.

Sunday, April 26 - Foothills Toccoa plays their first softball game! The game starts at 4:00pm and is at Shaver Rec Center in Seneca. Come cheer on the Toccoa team in "blue". Any team name ideas?

Sunday, April 26 - Praise Night/Lord's Supper/Baptism 6:00pm at the Seneca Campus! This is a entire church event combining both campuses! This is the first time we have done this! It is going to be exciting...plan to be there!! And if you are interested in being baptized and you haven't let me know......do so soon!

Monday, April 27 - Student Pastor Brian Rhodes will be having an informational meeting for those interested in volunteering in student ministries in Toccoa. Time and Place TBD....stay tuned.

Sunday, May 3 - Belong class at Toccoa Campus, 9:00am. If you are interested in what Foothills is all about and what we believe, plan to attend this class. This is a great class! It is offered monthly....but only occasionally is it offered on Sunday morning, usually they are Thursday nights.

Sunday, May 10 - Parent/Child Dedications. We do child dedications once a year. If you are interested in having you child dedicated, please email me the parents names, child's name, and a picture of the child.

Saturday, May 16 - Shine09. This is a day when the entire church goes out and does service projects to give back to our community! There will be a variety of projects to choose from, each lasting 3-4 hours. Last year we had 1000 people participate in Seneca.... I am expecting a turnout of at least 100 people from Toccoa for Shine!

That's the next month in a nutshell.......mark your calendars. You don't want to miss any of this!

Praise Night

April 26th @ 6:00

A Night of Worship, Sharing the Lord's Supper, & Baptism!

You and your family won't want to miss out on this special event at Foothills Community Church. We will be celebrating life! A life found in Christ. We'll be doing this through a time of worship led by our three worship leaders: Eric Peters, David Odom and Jonathan Bryant. We will also be spending time sharing in the Lord's Supper, remembering and celebrating the price that he paid on the cross for us. Following this time we will continue our night of praise with a baptism celebration. Please plan on joining us for this time of celebration. Child care will be available for those 6 weeks up to Kindergarten.

If you are interested in being baptized please contact our church office.

GOOD THINGS HAPPENING! New blog author!

Well... this past week was Easter. What a whirlwind! Things went great and people's lives were changed forever. Here's what I'm talking about:

-We had 201 people on the Toccoa Campus of Foothills Community Church!
-3 people crossed over the line of faith and accepted Jesus for the FIRST TIME!
-7 people said that they have known God, but needed to recommit their lives!
-6 people want to get baptized!
-There were 3,177 people on both campuses of FCC!
-1 out of every 23 people in Oconee County, SC was at FCC for Easter!!!
-46 salvations in all!
-136 recommitments in all!
-AND THAT'S JUST PEOPLE WHO TURNED IN INFORMATION CARDS AFTER THEIR DECISIONS!!!! WHAT???

So now that Easter is done, what's next?
